Established in 2007 in the rural communities of Eastern Uganda, Busitema University is a multi-campus public institution specializing in science and technology. The University comprises six faculties: Engineering (Busitema Campus), Science and Education (Nagongera Campus), Agriculture and Animal Sciences (Arapai Campus), Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences (Namasagali Campus), Health Sciences (Mbale and Kabwangasi Campuses), and Management Sciences (Pallisa Campus). The University also operates a Maritime Institute at Namasagali Campus and a Clinical Research Institute in Mbale.
